How Moshe works with clients
Moshe practices integrative psychotherapy and draws from a variety of methodological approaches. The practice emphasizes systemic and relational perspectives and a solution orientation, and it draws on the cognitive behavioral (CBT) approach.
His counseling style is direct, challenging and engaging, while being compassionate, caring and encouraging. He offers a non-judgmental and supportive environment and gives you practical tools to develop new solutions to the challenges you face.
His psychotherapy work covers marriage and couples therapy, premarital counseling, infidelity counseling, communication skills, anger management, emotional intelligence, anxiety, and self-esteem and confidence. His counseling approach emphasizes:
- A therapeutic process that is systemic and strategic
- A focus on the client’s strengths rather than pathology
- Practical and solution-focused intervention
- Making complex ideas simple and clear, and moving from the abstract to the practical
- Change built through hard work, small steps and commitment, so that healthy habits last
- Helping clients create the right conditions to reach their goals and make positive changes in their relationships and their lives
MFT supervision
Alongside his work with clients, Moshe serves as a supervisor for marriage and family therapists.
Languages
Moshe was born in Israel and is fluent in English and Hebrew. He works with clients in both languages.
Book and writing
Moshe is the author of “Anger Is Your Compass”, a book and workbook. It treats anger as an inner GPS that points to unmet needs for safety, positive regard, integrity and freedom. The book sets out three principles for working with anger (responsibility, mindfulness and compassion) and a three-step process: temper your temper, think compassionately and transform anger.
He also writes on Psychology Today, where his articles include “The Wisdom of Anger” and “The Needs Underneath Anger”.
Media and speaking
Moshe has written articles for a number of publications and has appeared on NY1, Telemundo and the Showtime series 3AM. His past speaking engagements include lectures and workshops on anger at the New York network of AAMFT, 92Y and the New York Open Center. The Media and Press and Speaking pages have the full lists.
